Sick and Injured Birds

The RSPB is an environmental group and is unfortunately not equipped to look after individual animals.  If you find a young bird that has fallen from its nest, please don't move it - its parents will come looking for it.  If it is in danger (e.g. from cats), place it higher up in a tree or hedge.

If a bird hits your window, put it in a cardboard box and keep it somewhere dark and quiet for an hour or two.  It may recover from the shock and fly away when you open the box.

If you think that the bird won't survive without intervention, please contact your local wildlife hospital such as Cedar Wildlife Sanctuary in Kirby-in-Ashfield (phone: 01623 468112).

Rare Bird Reports

If you want to report a rare bird sighting, you need to talk to Andy Hall of the Notts Birdwatchers.
