15 Minutes of FameA quick update on Dave's appearance on local radio.
On our return from the week-end we had a telephone call from the Stonebridge City Farm asking him to give a talk to the children’s Saturday Morning Club. I vent with him and twelve very well behaved kids sat through his talk. I happened to mention the fact that it was the RSPB’s Feed the Birds day on the 30th of October. The Saturday Club leader asked who wanted to come back on the 30th to help make fat balls to hang up for birds. Twelve hands shot up. so that was another date on the calendar. A couple of days later we had a phone call from Radio Nottingham after receiving a mail shot from our regional office about Feed the Birds Day, would Dave come in and speak on air about the day we had planned at the Farm? I think I was more nervous than he was, but Dave took it in his stride. We arrived at the studio, signed in, clipped on our badges and were met by Jemma who took us in the lift to the studio. After a wait of about five minutes no time to get nervous) Dave was in there and chatting to the presenter. All too soon the interview was over, but he had got his message across about the importance of feeding birds through the winter. I was quite proud of the way Dave handled the interview and I have to say I am quite proud of the fact we are both on the local committee, you never know what you will be asked to do. |
